Jodi Arias Murder Trail

Jodi Arias was sentenced to natural life in a state prison for first-degree murder of her ex-boyfriend named Travis Alexander. He was killed on June 4, 2008. He was in his shower when he was stabbed 27-29 times. His throat was slit, and he suffered a gunshot wound to the head. Arias had many different stories but her last claim was that it was out of self-defense.

This case was covered heavily by the media. Many of the themes throughout the media was that she was victim. Many of the articles had to use fair and balanced coverage but every article included some sort of quote saying how she was a victim. Many people claimed that she would never do this and that is was simply out of self-defense. The court ruled that it was to extensive to be considered self-defense.

This fits into the framework that Whiteley described. She was the victim. She was acting out of self-defense. There was no claims that Alexander was violent or abusive towards Arias though.

She claimed feminist in the trial when she testified that she had been violently abused by her parents since age seven. This raises the interest that Whiteley described saying that she is a victim. There was some sex videos show on trail that were intended to prove that she was a victim. She claimed she was physically and emotionally abused by Alexander.

The femininity was not to explain the guilt but almost the opposite. It became active as trying to prove she was innocent.

Overall, Arias might have been physically and emotionally abused. That information is only coming from her and throughout the trail there was a lot of different stories so that shows she is a liar. In my opinion, she deserved what she was convicted of and it was way to much for only self-defense. This was intended in my opinion.
